Optics Foundation Reaches Flood-Hit Families Across Sivasagar, Appeals for Continued Public Support

The devastating floods that struck Assam have left thousands of families struggling to rebuild their lives. Many have lost their homes, food supplies, livelihoods, livestock, and the dreams they had worked so hard to achieve. In the face of this tragedy, your love, trust, and generosity have become a source of hope for countless people. Founded during the Assam floods of 2017, Optics Foundation once again launched a large-scale flood relief campaign this year through online crowdfunding.

With the generous support of The Round Table Social Club, Jorhat, R.G. Nursing Home, Tezpur, Uriamghat Runners Group, Golaghat, and many compassionate donors, we distributed essential relief materials worth more than ₹3.5 lakh to flood-affected villages in Sivasagar district, including Ailamukh, Bogoriguri, Betbari, Bhadhara, Ligiripukhuri, and several nearby communities. The relief included food supplies, safe drinking water, animal feed, bedding, utensils, medicines, and other daily necessities. A team of dedicated doctors from Jorhat also organized a free medical camp to provide healthcare services to affected families.

None of this would have been possible without your unwavering support. Every donation, every volunteer, every helping hand, every partner organization, every doctor, every member of the media, and every well-wisher played an invaluable role in bringing relief to those who needed it most. On behalf of the entire Optics Foundation family, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to each one of you. You are the true heroes of this mission.

However, our work is far from over. As Assam’s beloved singer Zubeen Garg once said, “The end is never truly the end.” Our journey will continue until the flood-ravaged villages of Sivasagar are rebuilt and every affected family has the opportunity to return to a life of dignity, safety, and hope. Your support has already transformed countless lives, but many families are still waiting for help. We sincerely appeal to everyone to continue standing with us.

Every contribution, no matter how small, can help provide shelter, essential supplies, and hope to those trying to rebuild their lives. He also acknowledged the dedicated efforts of General Secretary Suprov Tamuli Phukan, Vice Presidents Dr. Kunal Kaushik and Bedanta Gogoi, Joint Secretary Rashmi Sonowal, Treasurer Shyamalina Hazarika, and District Coordinators Ritupon Boruah (Charaideo) and Neha Borah (Sivasagar) for successfully leading the relief mission across flood-affected areas.

Thank you for your kindness and support. Jai Aai Axom.
